My Daughter’s First Book

I came in from a quiet read in the backyard this afternoon to find both of my children writing books. My 5 year old son was drawing pictures and asked me to add the words of his choice. My 7 year old daughter came up with a story all her own. I helped her with spelling but nothing else.

As she was going, she said “Daddy, I am writing the word ‘but’ because this is the middle where the bad thing happens.” Not a bad understanding of story structure for a seven year old.

So without any further ado, here is the debut novel of my daughter Chloe:
